Description

We are seeking a highly technical and reliable Skilled Handyman (Electrical) to be based in KZN. In this role, you will be responsible for the preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance of all company facilities, ensuring that infrastructure, electrical systems, building services, equipment, and assets remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Responsibilities
  • Electrical Maintenance: Perform fault finding on single and three-phase electrical systems; install, repair, and maintain wiring, circuits, DB boards, and lighting systems in compliance with SANS regulations.
  • Specialized Facility Support: Maintain critical infrastructure across diverse divisions, including Mortuaries (refrigeration, cold rooms, generators), FSP Branches (banking offices, air-conditioning), and Fleet/Warehouse operations.
  • General Building Maintenance: Carry out essential repairs relating to plumbing, carpentry, painting, roofing, ceiling repairs, drywall, and minor welding.
  • Preventative Maintenance & Asset Care: Conduct routine inspections, complete maintenance schedules to minimize operational downtime, and ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
  • Emergency Response & Supervision: Attend to urgent breakdowns and after-hours call-outs, while also supervising on-site contractors to verify the quality of workmanship.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 (Matric) or technical trade test (NQF level 4).
  • Electrical Trade Test (Compulsory).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in facilities or building maintenance (commercial, industrial, retail, or healthcare environments).
  • Strong electrical fault-finding experience alongside general handyman skills across multiple trades.
  • Valid Code B Driver's Licence and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Wireman's Licence will be an added advantage.
