Words from the GCEO
South Africa as a nation has made immense progress in bringing equality and improving the lives of ordinary citizens from all walks of life.
This is to be celebrated, however, there is still a huge gap between the rich and those that are underprivileged particularly in the education system.
Education and skills training remains unequal where some learners from underprivileged schools do not get the opportunity to learn vital computer skills required for tertiary education.
This results in the underprivileged learners being further disadvantaged when they get to tertiary and lack the computer literacy skills required for accomplishing academic tasks, the impact of this can be very impairing.
Icebolethu is stepping up to bridge the gap by offering free computer literacy training for grade 11 and 12 learners in preparation for tertiary education. As a former teacher, education is very close to my heart as I have seen how it changes lives and transforms families and communities at large.
I personally extended my warmest welcome to all the students that will be participating in our training program. We are privileged to be a part of empowering you for the future and wish you the very best in your academic journey.
