Job Title: General Manager FSP

Reports To: Group Chief Operations Officer

2. Job Purpose

The General Manager – FSP is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and commercial direction for the FSP Business Unit. The role is accountable for driving sustainable business growth, operational excellence, financial performance, organizational transformation, and governance alignment in support of the Group’s strategic objectives.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with the Group Executive Leadership Team to ensure the FSP Business Unit remains commercially competitive, operationally efficient, customer-focused, and strategically aligned with the broader organizational vision.

3. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Business Growth

Support the Group Executive Management Team in fostering a culture of transformational leadership, strategic alignment, and workforce engagement.
Collaborate with the Group COO and Executive Leadership Team to establish and manage organization-wide performance accountability systems and the FSP Balanced Scorecard.
Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the FSP Business Unit strategy in alignment with Group strategic objectives.
Drive long-term business planning initiatives to support sustainable growth, operational effectiveness, and market competitiveness.
Manage and coordinate the strategic review process for the FSP Business Unit.

Translate strategic objectives into measurable operational plans and individual performance scorecards across all business levels.
Develop integrated growth and sustainability plans aligned to Group priorities and strategic direction.
Define and implement business growth strategies, including sales and market expansion initiatives.

Operational and Financial Management

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the FSP Business Unit to ensure optimal performance and service delivery.
Lead all fiscal activities of the FSP Business Unit, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, profit and loss management, and audits.
Manage the operational expenditure (OPEX) budget and oversee capital expenditure (CAPEX) requirements.
Monitor and evaluate business performance against agreed strategic and operational objectives.
Ensure systems and controls are in place to track performance, mitigate risks, and deliver sustainable value.
Provide regular performance and operational feedback to the Group COO and Executive Leadership Team.
Ensure compliance with all applicable industry standards, policies, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

Organizational Transformation and Change Management

Collaborate with Executive Leadership in driving organizational transformation initiatives.
Apply structured change management methodologies and lead transformation initiatives across the FSP Business Unit.
Support senior management in fulfilling their roles as change sponsors and change leaders.
Ensure the organization is appropriately structured, resourced, and positioned to execute both operational and strategic priorities.

Leadership and People Management

Provide inspirational leadership and strategic direction to the FSP Management Team.
Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports to support leadership capability and succession readiness.
Develop and implement succession plans for critical roles within the FSP Business Unit.
Evaluate management performance through clearly defined annual KPIs aligned to the FSP Balanced Scorecard.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder and Relationship Management

Build and maintain productive relationships with customers, suppliers, stakeholders, and strategic partners.
Prepare, structure, and present commercially viable and customer-centric products and solutions to existing and prospective clients.
Partner with Executive Leadership to address operational performance, compliance, governance, and risk management matters within the FSP Business Unit.

Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management

Ensure sound governance practices and operational structures in accordance with accepted industry standards.
Lead, monitor, and evaluate management practices to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
Proactively manage operational shortcomings, incidents, and failures, ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively.
Ensure a safe and healthy working environment in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

5. Qualifications

Grade 12/ Matric essential
NQF Level 8 Postgraduate Qualification in Business Administration related field.
Master`s Degree in Business Administration or Business Leadership is preferred.

6. Experience

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales and/or operations management within a corporate environment, preferably in the Financial Services sector.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a senior leadership or executive management role.
Proven track record in strategic leadership, operational management, and business growth.
Demonstrated experience in organizational transformation, stakeholder management, and performance management.

7. Working Conditions

Office- and field-based role.
Frequent travel to branches and operational sites required.
Extended working hours may be required in line with operational and business demands.
