Job Title: Branch Supervisor
Department: Core – Business (FSP)
Reports To: Area Manager
Location: Umthatha, Port Shepstone , Vryheid and Pongola, and Greytown

The Branch Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily branch operations, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff performance, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly those set out under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act and other relevant FSP regulations. The role bridges the gap between branch-level execution and strategic objectives, driving both operational efficiency and sales performance.
Operational Management
• Supervise and coordinate daily branch activities to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
• Oversee cash handling, reconciliations, and banking procedures.
• Monitor workflow, ensuring service delivery meets agreed turnaround times.
• Implement and maintain operational policies and procedures in line with FSP regulations.
Sales and Client Service
• Support the branch in achieving sales and business growth targets.
• Ensure high standards of client service and complaint resolution.
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling of financial products.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.Compliance and Risk Management
• Ensure the branch operates in full compliance with FSP, FAIS, and other relevant legislation.
• Conduct regular checks to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and risk controls.
• Manage audit findings and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain proper record-keeping for regulatory purposes.
Reporting and Communication
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational and performance reports.
• Communicate business updates, policy changes, and operational requirements to the team.
• Liaise with Head Office and other departments to resolve operational issues.
Skills and Competencies
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Solid understanding of FSP regulations, including FAIS and FICA requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Customer-focused with a sales-driven mindset.
• Organisational and time-management skills.
Qualifications
• Matric essential
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or related field (advantageous).
• RE5 and/or RE1 (Regulatory Exams) as required by the FSCA.
Experience
• At least 2–3 years’ experience in a supervisory role within financial services.
• Proven track record in branch operations and sales management.
• Sound knowledge of financial products and services.
