Minimum Qualifications:
- National Diploma / Bachelor Degree in a SHE related discipline
- SAMTRAC will be advantageous
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years` experience in a SHE role is essential
- Knowledge of OHS Act is a must
- Knowledge of ISO standards is advantageous
- Demonstrated track record in incident investigation, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance management.
- Experience working with contractors, validating supplier safety files, and conducting site compliance audits.

- Excellent planning, organizational, and coordination abilities.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple sites and teams across regions.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and reporting tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ management policies, procedures, systems and standards aligned with ISO standards i.e. ISO 9001 for Quality, ISO 14001 for Environment, ISO 45001 for Occupational Health & Safety.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure full compliance with national safety, health, and environmental legislation i.e the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Investigate and report accidents and incidents, determining root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
- Providing SHEQ training and guidance to employees and contractors.
- Maintaining documentation, records, and preparing reports for management and audits.
- Co-ordinate planned and ad hoc inspections as required by various authorities i.e. Department of Employment and Labour.
- Manage injuries and compliance investigations (COIDA) and closing of preventative actions.
- Co-ordinate health and safety training for all employees.
- Initiate, organize and ensure that all Safety Representatives, Fire Fighters, First Aiders, and as well as the OHS Committee members are trained.
