The premium increase is necessary to ensure sustained benefits and coverage for all our valued members. It will take effect on March 1, 2024, for all existing clients. New clients will start with the new premiums from 1 February 2024.
Premiums will see a moderate increase on an average 10%, though some policies will have a higher percentage price increase, ensuring a balanced adjustment for all policyholders.
We have increased cover benefits in order to continue giving you quality services.
The review process involved a careful review of various factors, including specific policy underwriting requirements, annual claims patterns, and other unique aspects of your policy (such as costs related to carrying out claims, funeral expenses, and inflation).
How can I find out the new premium amount for my policy?
Your updated premium amount will be sent to clients via, SMS or email. You are also able to visit a branch or reach the Call Centre and speak to an Icebolethu agent.
When was the last premium increase to my policy?
The last premium increase was in 2021. Due to many still recovering economically from effects of covid, no increases were passed in 2022 or 2023.

Will there be any further premium increases in the future?
All premiums are reviewed annually. Any adjustments will be considered based on careful reviews of economic factors, claims patterns, and industry trends. Any changes will be communicated transparently to our valued clients.

Can I opt-out of the premium increase?
Unfortunately, the premium increase is necessary to maintain the quality benefits and coverage for all members, and it applies uniformly across all policies. However, as a client the choice always remains with you on which policy is best suited to cover your needs. If you choose to change your policy, please contact our agents to discuss options available.
We have reviewed and increased cover benefits in order to continue giving you quality services.
For new policies effective 01 February 2024. For existing clients, 1st March 2024.
All clients who have policies with Icebolethu Funerals for 12 months or more.
Policies in our books for less than 12 months will see their increase effected in their policy anniversary months.
What if I cannot afford the new premiums?
At Icebolethu we have various plans that can covers all needs. We advise you to speak to our consultants for a suitable plan.
