On 8 January 2021 Nomfundo Mcoyi; Icebolethu GCEO and SAFPA KZN Chairperson and Moses Mujati Icebolethu GCOO, sat down with Alex Mthiyane for a conversation centred around the effects of the COVID-19 second wave on the funeral industry and the company’s response to the rising pressure brought on by this wave.
“Our industry has been hit hard by the recent influx of deaths due to the second-wave. This has resulted in us making drastic operational changes within the company to ensure we serve our clients while adhering to COVID-19 precautionary measures. As a business, we deem it our responsibility to inform our clients of such changes, while also addressing FAQ’s to ensure seamless funeral proceedings”, said Nomfundo Mcoyi in an interview with media leading up to the panel discussion.
Icebolethu Group responded to the rising pressure by capacitating the fleet centre by adding 16 vehicles as well as employing additional staff members. Icebolethu Group also increased its infrastructure by adding two mortuaries, one in Clermont and another to be launched soon in Umlazi.
Serving the people of South Africa with excellence and care has always been at the core of Icebolethu Group and will continue to be the driving force amid the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
