The General Manager: Talent, Learning, Development and Academy provides guidance and thought leadership in the design and implementation of critical components of the Business` Talent, Learning, and Development strategies to create integrated and optimal learning and talent experiences with Icebolethu Group of Companies Strategy.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Talent, Learning, and Development HR expert with experience in a corporate and/or manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Review, benchmark, compile and implement best practice Talent, Learning and Development policies, practices, procedures and systems.
- Design, develop, and implement Talent identification, Development and Management Framework.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Group HR Strategy which incorporate the Talent, Learning and Development of Icebolethu Group of Companies.
- Collaborating with Business in developing sustainable human capital pipeline to meet future needs of the Icebolethu Group of Companies.
- Develop, and facilitate implementation of Succession Plans by taking into account Key Competencies and Skills` Business needs through the process of Talent Reviews.
- Design and develop HR tools and instruments for use in the process of identification of Talent, and High Potential (HIPOs).
- Facilitate the identification of critical talent pool within the company engaging with relevant Leadership.
- Providing guidance on psychometric assessments for talent acquisition and development purposes.
- Drive change management initiatives relating to the launch of new Talent solutions and in consultation with organizational Effectiveness section, to determine the most appropriate change approach depending on the scale of the intervention and the target audience.
- Determine the organization`s training needs, analysis, development and implementation of skills and competency matrix/profiles.
- Compile Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Reports and the submission thereof.
- Apply and obtain SETA mandatory grants, discretionary grants, project funding and other funding to maximizing return on investment.
- Build relationships with training and development related suppliers, SETA, stakeholders, and capitalizing on such to maximize training and development opportunities.
- Performance manage their own assigned Team.
- Develop and implement Individual Development Plans for own Team.
- Ensure 100% manning levels within own Division.
- Compile, submit, monitor, and manage the approved own Divisional budget.
- Ensure that the Divisional spend is in line with Group Financial Management principles, policies, and procedures.
- Address strategic and operational risks identified in own Division.
- Contribute to the mitigation of Group HR risks.
- Establish, and manage the optimal utilization of the Training Academy
- Position and promote the company Academy for readiness to provide external training to other companies/ organization in order generate the revenue for its sustainability and growth.
- Prepare, secure, and maintain accreditation and appropriate training licence of the Academy as an institution of learning.
- Ensure that training courses, programs and other learning materials are accredited and recognized in line with the provision of the relevant training legislation.
- Ensure that the Academy contributes to the community development within the confines of Corporate Social Investment strategy.
The following minimum requirements should be met to be considered:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/ Human Sciences/ Organizational or Industrial Psychology or other related degree qualification.
- Registration with South African Board for People Practice is preferred.
- Registration as Psychologist / and or Psychometrist is an added advantage.
- Registration as Skills Development Facilitator / Moderator/ Assessor is preferred.
- Eight (8) years senior management experience in Talent, Learning& Development in a corporate, and/or manufacturing environments.
- Experience and exposure in managing an Academy of Learning as an Institution is highly recommended.
- Project management and planning skills, ability to facilitate multi-disciplinary projects at any given time.
