General Manager: Remuneration And Benefits

The General Manager: Remuneration and Benefits role is to design and implement all strategies linked to a fair and attractive remuneration and benefits and thus instills an Employee Value Proposition that firmly positions Icebolethu Group as a responsible, competitive Employer of Choice.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement (maintain) a sound remuneration strategy aimed at rewarding people fairly, equitably and consistently in accordance with their value added to Icebolethu Group.
  • Full end-to -end reward management including philosophy and strategy development, implementation, governance, communication, bench-marking, process and practice development, as well as the required annual cycle reviews for Non-Executive Directors, Executive Directors, Executive, Management and general employees.
  • Prepare all remuneration proposals including annual remuneration reviews for the Remuneration Committee and take responsibility for the compilation of Remuneration Committee packs.
  • Develop and maintain the Remuneration Policy.
  • Develop, review short and long terms incentives schemes, including commissions, rewards and other related recognition programmes.
  • Guide and manage the Group`s benefits, including service providers, rate reviews, best practice benefit offerings, etc.
  • Bench-mark salary and other related benefits to market practices and recommend cost-effective amendments to remain market related.
  • Manage the Group`s payroll and administration Group HR Unit. 
  • Manage the review of job gradings, including the review and advise on job specifications and structures.
  • Direct and ensure that the workforce budgetary prescriptions are managed optimally in line with business protocols and ensure that the workforce financial allocations are determined in accordance with deliverables.
  • Develop, lead and maintain a motivated and high-performance team.
  • Provide advice on sensitive matters to the Group HR Executive, Group Chief Finance Officer, and Group Chief Executive Officer.

 

The following minimum requirements should be met to in order to be considered:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/ Human Sciences/ Organizational or Industrial Psychology or other related degree qualification.
  • Registration with South African Board for People Practice is preferred.
  • Registration with South African Rewards Association is preferred
  • Global Remuneration Practitioner (GRP) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of Ten (10) years’ Remuneration management experience and five years of which at senior remuneration management level, preferably in corporate and or manufacturing environment.
  • Job evaluation systems, Paterson Grading is preferred.
  • Knowledge of all related labour laws.
  • Business acumen
  • Systems and process thinking.
  • Strong problem and analytical skills as ability to analyse and interpret statistical DATA and HR Analytics is critical.

  • Strategic and operational management skills.
  • Project management and planning skills.
