General Manager: Organizational Effectiveness

The General Manager: Organizational Effectiveness provides strategic direction on organizational design operational frameworks, processes, systems, organizational design, and future fit capabilities and ensures that the appropriate Target Operating Model (TOM) structure, systems and processes are embedded across the organization.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Organizational Effectiveness HR expert with experience in a corporate and or / manufacturing environment.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Enterprise Culture Strategy, Design and Implementation:
  • Collaborate with Icebolethu Group Leadership to identify and drive continuous improvements towards the desired culture.
  • Lead the design and implementation of evolving interventions that shape and shift the culture to deliver the business strategy and cultural aspirations.
  • Act as a collaborator and drive integration with the HRBP`s to drive common foundation and philosophy that influence the people practices across the employee life cycle.
  • Lead the enterprise strategic dialogue and culture transformation plans to mobilise and implement the required Icebolethu Group culture.
  • Promote the integration of people practices with the aim of enhancing Icebolethu Group culture and employee experience.
  •  Support Icebolethu culture, by designing and implementing flagship programmes and initiatives (physical/virtual and online) that communicate and affirm Icebolethu Group culture.
  • Lead a systematic view of culture transformation beyond the core “people systems” to embed across all levels, including operating models, organizational design, governance, and decision making.
  • Support the businesses on cultural flagship events, ensuring that content from these events is captured and used to bring to life the culture of the company.

 

2. Organizational Design
  • Drive customer-centric organisational structures and capabilities and ways of working that enable innovation, collaboration, agility, and speed of execution.
  • Lead the design and implementation of the business target operating model so that the “traditional thinking” is challenged, and innovation pursued.
  • Work with the Executive Team to “scenario plan” for longer term organization design and systems thinking.
  • Develop and engage the business in a compelling and ethical Organizational Design vision that enables the organization to achieve its mission.
  • Develop Organization Design Frameworks for the business and embed the operating model and deliver improvements in organization efficiency and effectiveness, by using organization theories to create design principles fit for purposes.
  • Implement and manage effective governance to support evolution of OD and control changes to organization structures.
  • Evaluate and where appropriate change the underlying processes, organizational principles, org structure and role and responsibilities to ensure they are effective in delivering the business mission and strategy.
  • Understand how information and data flows through the organization and effectively facilitates decision making and achieves higher level of performance.
  • Support redesign of job framework, role profiles, capability frameworks, etc.

 

3. Leadership Development    
  • Design leadership competency models that are aligned with organizational design frameworks deliver skilled and effective leaders and employees.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager: Talent Management, Learning and Development and Academy of Learning to co-create and implement leadership programmes that enforce the right culture and affirm the right leadership competencies for our intended culture.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager: Talent Management, Learning and Development and Academy of Learning to integrate talent and performance philosophies that drive the intended culture and outcomes.

        

4. Transformation, Equity and Belonging 
  • Leading and be an ambassador for Icebolethu Group Transformation, Equity and Belonging (TEB) initiative and strategy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to craft and mobilize strategic direction to help Icebolethu Group businesses drive strategies that operationalize Icebolethu Group Transformation, Equity ,and Belonging efforts.
  • Draft and report on Icebolethu Group Transformation, Equity, and Belonging plan and progress.
  • Help Icebolethu Group drive an open and inclusive culture where employees have a strong sense of belonging and feel empowered to be high performers.

 

The following minimum requirements should be met to be considered:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/ Human Sciences/ Organizational or Industrial Psychology or other related degree qualification.
  • Minimum of Ten (10) years’ relevant Organisational Development and Design with a proven track record, preferably in a Financial Services Industry and seven (7) years of which at Senior Specialist / Senior Management level.
  • Project management and planning skills, ability to facilitate multi-disciplinary projects at any given time.
  • Strategic and creative problem solver with strong systems thinking knowledge.
  • Comfort with using data to drive evidence-based decisions on people matters.
